British Airways Strike

British Airways cabin crew are to strike for 3 days from 20th March and 4 days from 27th March.

BA have announced the following on their website:

Unite, the trade union that represents the majority of British Airways (BA) cabin crew, has announced its intention to take strike action on the following dates:

20, 21 and 22 March 2010
27, 28, 29 and 30 March 2010
At the moment all of our flights are continuing to operate as normal.
If a strike does go ahead, we are intending to operate a range of flights.
Not all our flights will be cancelled.
We are currently finalising our flight schedules for the strike period and have temporarily stopped selling seats on all flights operating on the strike dates.

If flights are cancelled Key Travel will contact affected clients directly.  As yet, no flights have been announced as cancelled.  At present whilst the situation remains unclear we can offer the following options to clients who are scheduled to travel on BA between 19 and 31 March 2010:

  1. A full refund
  2. Rebooking onto another BA flight to the same destination at a different time of year in the same cabin at no cost
If you have an issued ticket that is affected and you wish to discuss these options with us, please call your reservation team and choose 'option 9' to be put through to our dedicated 'BA Strike' team.

This policy only applies to flights to/from London Heathrow and shorthaul flights (within Europe) to/from London Gatwick.

Flights unaffected by the proposed strike are: longhaul flights to/from London Gatwick, BA flights from other airports and flights operated by BA partners, alliances, franchises and codeshares.

Clients wishing to change their BA flights that fall outside of the date ranges specified above do so at the full advertised amendment fee rates.
