Key Travel competes in Oxfam Emergency Challenge

14 October 2013 11:24

Key Travel has 2 teams competing in the Oxfam Emergency Challenge to experience firsthand what it's like to work in a disaster situation. The two teams from Key Travel (team green and team blue) will spend a day experiencing the ultimate buzz of great teamwork in an emergency scenario. This unique opportunity will allow Key Travel staff to experience firsthand the techniques and skills required by Oxfam's emergency response teams.

In this event, 30 teams will be battling it out to overcome a range of physical and mental activities over the course of 10 hours including cycling (20km) and running (5km – 10km) through 400 acres of woodland, as well as problem solving, and orienteering. How teams respond is up to their strategy and strengths. From dealing with conflicting information and having to make decisions under pressure, to organising logistics, and finally implementing the plan - building a refugee camp and constructing water tanks, this challenge will really put teams to the test.
The Oxfam Emergency Challenge is taking place on 2nd November. We'll post an update and photos following the event to let you know how the Key Travel teams got on. Please wish our teams luck!
