Key Travel Secures Contract with VSO

02 May 2013 09:29

Key Travel has been appointed as VSO UK’s travel provider.

As of April, Key Travel has begun supplying VSO UK with a range of services including travel booking, visa services, risk management and automated online booking systems. The international development charity awarded the £6m contract to Key Travel in January 2013 following a competitive tendering process beginning in November of last year.
Commenting on the reason for the appointment Jason Baldaro Global Procurement and  Facilities Manager from VSO International, says:

“It was obvious from the start of the process that the product and service level offered to us by Key Travel far exceeded that being offered by the competition. Other factors in our decision included Key Travel’s competitive fares, its proactive use of online booking systems and its in-house management of visa services – all of which are extremely important for our volunteers and staff working overseas across the developing world.”

Andy Speller, Managing Director at Key Travel, adds: “We are very pleased to have won this prestigious contract to work with one of the UK’s most respected international development charities. Key Travel has long experience of working with organisations which send volunteers to some of the world’s most remote and dangerous locations and we look forward to meeting VSO UK’s travel needs. This win is testament to the professionalism and innovation of Key Travel staff, the high quality of the services we offer and the investment we have made in key areas such as technology.”
