Thank you and Happy Christmas from our CEO Spence Knudson
19 December 2016 11:34
As the festive season is well and truly upon us and 2016 comes to a close, I wanted to take a few moments to reflect on the admirable work our NGO, faith and academic communities have achieved throughout the year. While 2016 saw its fair share of tragedy and strife, with it, we’ve also witnessed incredible humanitarian responses and revolutionary academic achievements that have, and will make the world a better place for years to come.
Many of our NGO partners provided support in the fight against the Zika virus, contributed to the complete eradication of Ebola in Liberia and the promotion of universal HIV services in Lesotho. Some of our partners supported victims of conflict in war-torn Syria and South Sudan, and united in Ecuador following April’s devastating earthquake and in Haiti after Hurricane Matthew.
In 2016, the academic community continued to spearhead scientific research and technology innovation. These endeavours have lead to new gene discoveries and the creation of fundamental medical treatments. Your relief efforts, advocacy and commitment to helping others are highly valued by myself, the Key Travel team as well as the millions you support.
On behalf of myself and all of us here, I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of you a Happy Christmas and New Year wherever you are spending it in the world. Thank you for making our world a safer, healthier and more egalitarian place. We very much look forward to working and supporting your mission in 2017.
